My first time ever at an onsen, and despite it being located farther in the opposite direction from Tokyo, it was totally worth it! A great variety of indoor and outdoor baths and types of baths. When you enter, staff is very helpful. Not too far of a walk from the bus stop either. If you have time, make room to spend a good while here to take advantage of all the amenities including spa services and massage chairs and the restaurant.

So I understand Japanese culture is very traditional. I wish it was advertised that people with tattoos are not allowed in ANY hot springs around Mt Fuji...regardless of your nationality. Just a word to the wise...especially if you are traveling a long way.

The site is about 8-9km out from JR Shirakawa station. Transport cans be provided at prescribed time but MUST be arrange ahead. DRiver will not let u into the bus otherwise. There are two pickup points and JR station is of them. The facilities are well kept and one if the outdoor pool claim to have views of Fuji but it was cloudy on our visit. I didnt feel or smell the bath water to be hot spring or thermal water though. But if that's not an issue they have about 5-6 diff pool from cave, outdoor, aromatherapy pool etc.

Questions & Answers

Tattoos are not allowed

Our shop is no good. Many Japanese and Japanese police officers are not friendly in tattoos. In addition, both real tattoos and fake tattoo stickers are rejected. In addition, bandages to hide tattoos and taping to hide tattoos are prohibited. For more information, please contact the store on the homepage or phone. very sorry…

In Japan, it is bad manners to take a bath with a towel. Please enjoy Japanese culture.

No, they strictly prohibited the one who has tattoos. And no T-Shirts inside onsen.

I'm sorry I don't remember the exact amount, but I think it was about 1,300 yen for a towel set. Also, there is a discount when you go on a motorcycle 割 引️

Yes you can! I came here and had no choice but to use the private one. It's a little more expensive but at least I could still use it.

Although not a hotel, you can book a private onsen. The restaurant is very good, too. Enjoy it
